UHY merges in Manley Garvin

UHY, a Top 50 Firm based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, has expanded into South Carolina by adding Manley Garvin LLC, based in Greenwood.

“As Greenwood and the surrounding region continue to support established corporations and welcome a surge of new enterprises, the demand for trusted, full-service accounting support is growing,” said UHY chairman and CEO Steven McCarty in a statement Monday. “The area’s growth and location make it an ideal market for UHY to expand our footprint, strengthen client relationships, and deliver even greater value to businesses in the region. We are thrilled to welcome the Manley Garvin team and their clients to UHY.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. UHY ranked No. 26 on Accounting Today‘s 2025 Top 100 Firms list. In December 2024, it took a private equity investment from Summit Partners in Boston. UHY reported $384.7 million in revenue, with over 2,000 professionals across 40 offices in the U.S. Manley Garvin has just one office.

Manley Garvin was founded in 2015 and offers tax, assurance and advisory services. Manley Garvin shareholder and CEO Josh Garvin, along with his fellow shareholder and founder Jim Manley, will join UHY along with their entire team, further expanding UHY’s footprint in the South with Manley Garvin’s one office.

In July, UHY expanded into Ohio by adding Flynn & Co. in Cincinnati. Last January, it expanded its presence in Michigan and Missouri by combining with two firms: Tama, Budaj & Raab in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Botz Deal & Co. with three St. Louis-based locations in St. Charles, St. Peters and Wentzville. In 2024, it added Paresky Flitt & Co. in Wayland, Massachusetts. In 2023, UHY merged in Baird, Cotter & Bishop in Traverse City and Cadillac, Michigan and Ross, Langan & McKendree in McLean, Virginia, In 2022, it added Jansen Valk Thompson Reahm in Michigan; LWBJ in Iowa; and TGM Group and Stoy Malone, both in Maryland.
